‘PATCHWORK RUGS’ by JOOST JANSZEN

Joost Janszen likes to explore the grey area between industrial design and art. With his background as an industrial designer he tries to find new solutions for material, products and fashion. Experimenting and a fast approach of production, capture innovative and original shapes, visuals and objects.

As an industrial artist Joost Janszen is working under commission or as art director for several [fashion] designers as well at his own studio. His work manifests itself mainly in fabrics, prints and accessories. Joost is always interested in different collaborations and projects to experiment and explore.

Patchwork Rugs were born out of experiments for shapes in textile. The rugs are patch-worked with 3-dimensional shapes. By using a repetition the patchwork becomes a dimensional texture, which can be used to decorate furniture, walls or floors.

Each rug is unique and one-of-a-kind. Materials like denim, leather and canvas create a rough look and a fashionable touch in each interior.

Especially for Enlightenment, Joost has made a big size rug!
